ACCR would like to welcome Cyndie Spanier, who was recently elected to be a co-chair of the Steering Committee. Congratulations Cyndie!

Cynthia Spanier is a Ph.D. trained Clinical Psychologist and Certified Health Coach recently elected to co-chair of the Allegheny County Coalition for Recovery (ACCR). 7/2019. When she is not facilitating steering committee meetings, she is running her health coaching practice. The focus here is on health, longevity and weight loss through habit change. She employs a 6-pole model of lifestyle medicine to achieve recovery through healthy habit change in her clients. The focus of the six-pole model includes: diet/nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, sleep quantity and quality, love and social support, and meaningful activities. Dr. Spanier has also applied her programmatic interest giving several recent presentations at NAMI state conferences focusing on improving the health and extending the life span of the seriously mentally ill (SMI).
